Yes, I know I'm not a Hammers supporter - but their song goes with my background and if I shut my eyes I can pretend they are Aston Villa players. image

  1. The PC Brigade

    07/04/08 01:13:57 | 4 Comments

These people who take it upon themselves to guard the morals of the rest of us! Oh if there is one subject to make my blood boil it's this.

I watch a motoring show once a week in this country called Top Gear. There are three fun presenters who get up to all sorts of weird and wonderful things, like crossing African deserts in old bangers or, last year, going to the North Pole. Two of the Presenters were in difficulties on that run, so they poured themselves a Gin and Tonic - bear in mind they were in the middle of an ice field with no other drivers or cars in sight - and guess what? A couple of the PC brigade who happened to be watching complained to the BBC and the BBC instead of telling these old f*rts to go where a squirrel stores its nuts have ticked off the Presenters. I should add that they were not driving at the time.

Firstly I have watched these Presenters drive all over Europe and the USA without touching a drop of alcohol, secondly what on earth were people like those old f*rts doing watching the programme in the first place! I have a theory that these people watch programmes just to find something to nitpick about. Unless the BBC were deluged in complaints, which I very much doubt from reading the story in the Mail this morning, they should have ignored it. The more we give such people a platform the more they will ensure the rest of us toe their line. There are a vocal minority in this country who see it as their God given right to tell the rest of us how to live!
  2. Regarding Religion

    07/03/08 23:49:45 | 3 Comments

A phrase I often hear in Boardland is that "all wars are either caused by or over religion". I wonder why this is so. After all I am informed by many Muslim men and women I know that their religion is a peaceful one. We know Buddhism is and the basic tenets of Christianity preach peace and love for one's fellow man.

Therefore I don't believe that religion causes wars at all, I believe that it's men who use religion as a cloak, they are hiding behind it when in fact it's just plain greed rearing it's ugly head again. However it does suit some (not all) atheists to use it as a stick to beat religion with and that brings me to something else. I am not the best Christian in the world, far from it, but I do believe. I would never ever knock anyone for their lack of faith yet atheists time and time again persist in starting threads criticising religion particularly Christianity (they have to be careful with other faiths as it could be viewed as racism in some PC quarters). So why is that?

My theory is that it's a sort of fear of the unknown and when most of us are faced by such fears it's far easier to knock something as it gives one a feeling of comfort for having done so. I can't think of another reason why they should feel compelled to keep making posts about it - but they do. Most odd.

Hi Gem, I am really trying to keep well but feel as though I have come home, down here is freezin' this morning much more like English weather than Aussie weather, well least it means we are getting a little more rain in the dam.

I do have the photobucket account. I even got drunk with power after Sonic's help and was able to snatch some pics from my husband's camera and post them, about 2 days before the lightening zapped my almost-new printer/scanner that would allow me to snatch said pics from the little photo card in the camera. I am waiting to go to Walmart to get a new one, since my younger and more tech savvy sister told me not to bother calling "Steve", my tech guy, since a new one will cost less than "Steve".

If I on;y knew how to collect them, then post them without having to skip all my meals for two days just to do *one* (if you don't believe this, ask Sonic who took pity on me and gave me a crucial step in even posting my avatar), I would be a passionate collector of pics and emoticons!

Do you have a photobucket account? If so it's really easy, if not then join - it's free - and any of us can help you upload any you like.

Your is so beautiful! ALL of it! I'm gonna hire a geek to do something with mine, since I go into techno-screaming when I try to manipulate pictures. If it ain't text, I can't do it.

    Hi Betsy,

I enlisted the help of a lady called Zandranna - she posts quite a bit round various ezboards and in The Lobby - and she set it up for me, but I daresay CT could do just as good a job as she used to design web pages.
imagefor the compliments I will pass them on to her.
